FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I see you in person for counselling?
Yes. But if I don’t have any available spaces for you; I can offer to see you online.
How does online counselling work?
Online counseling mirrors traditional in-person sessions but offers the convenience of participating from your own home. If you're new to video calls, it might feel unfamiliar at first, but most people quickly adapt. With the right setup, online counseling is highly effective for most individuals.
To participate, you'll need a device like a computer, laptop, or tablet equipped with a camera, microphone, speakers, and a stable internet connection.
No account signup is required for telehealth sessions. On the day of your appointment, you'll receive an email with a link to your private meeting.
Before your session, take 5-10 minutes to prepare a quiet, private, and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Have a glass of water or a warm drink, cushions, a blanket if it's chilly, a pen and paper for notes, and perhaps some tissues handy.
This setup allows you to stay relaxed at home, eliminating travel time or the chance of running into acquaintances in a waiting room.
If privacy is a concern—perhaps due to others at home during your session—feel free to reach out to discuss your worries or explore alternative arrangements that suit your needs.
What to Expect in Your First Session
It’s normal to feel nervous before your first appointment, especially if you’re unsure what to expect. I’ll do everything I can to help you feel at ease.
We’ll proceed at a pace that feels right for you, and I’m happy to answer any questions. During the session, we’ll discuss what led you to seek counseling and your goals for the process. This is a chance to get to know me, assess if we’re a good match, and begin feeling more comfortable about working together.
The first session will focus on understanding your needs and establishing counseling goals. There’s no pressure to discuss anything you’re not ready to share.
